2025年の日本のスタートアップ資金調達総額は、7613億円（デット除く）と前年同時期の集計額からほぼ横ばいを維持した。調達額平均は前年から不変だが、中央値は下がり、資金は選別と小さくつなぐへと移る。 ファンド設立は、設立本数・総額ともに前年を上回ったものの、標準的なファンド規模は縮小し、総額を超大型が下支えする構図が鮮明だ。EXITでは、上場維持基準の見直しを受けた質の高いIPOへのシフトや、M&Aは件数の高水準を維持した。 本稿はSpeedaが1月27日（火）に公開した国内スタートアップの資金調達動向をまとめたレポート『Japan Startup Finance 2025』の内容をもとに、そのエッセンスを整理したものである。

東京証券取引所はグロース市場の上場維持基準を、現行の「上場10年経過後に時価総額40億円以上」から、2030年3月以降は「上場5年経過後に時価総額100億円以上」へと見直す方針を示した。成長企業向け市場としての信頼性と機能を確保するための措置であり、市場全体の質を高める動きが進んでいる。 こうした背景を踏まえ、Speedaでは過去に時価総額100億円未満で上場した377社を対象に、上場後5年以内に100億円へ到達した企業と、到達しなかった企業を、財務指標や株価推移など多角的なデータから比較分析した。その結果を基に、グロース市場で求められる成長水準をより具体的に示すことを試みた。

In the first half of 2025, total funding raised by startups in Japan reached JPY 339.9 billion (excluding debt), showing a flat growth with 4% increase year-on-year. While investors maintain their selective stance, companies with proven track records are securing capital. The number of newly formed funds exceeded the year-on-year (YoY) numbers, whereas the total capital raised declined. A stagnant IPO market that has made it difficult for managers to showcase performance, the environment surrounding the deals is becoming increasingly polarized between funds that can secure capital and those who are struggling to do so. With the government’s five-year plan to develop startups reaching the halfway mark, early signs of shifts in the startup environment are emerging. This article summarizes the key points of a “Japan Startup Finance in First Half of 2025” report by Speeda that compiles funding trends of startups in Japan.

2025年上半期、日本のスタートアップの資金調達総額は3399億円（デット除く）と、前年同時期に集計した金額から4%増とほぼ横ばいの水準を維持した。投資家の選別姿勢は続くものの、実績を示す企業には資金が集まっている。 ファンドの設立数は前年同期比を上回ったものの、設立総額は減少した。IPOの停滞により実績を示しづらい環境が続く中で、新規ファンドの設立は資金を集められるファンドとそうでないファンドに二極化しつつある。 政府の「スタートアップ育成5か年計画」が折り返し地点を迎えるなか、スタートアップを取り巻く環境にどんな変化が起きているのか──その兆しを探る。 本稿では、スピーダが国内スタートアップの資金調達動向をまとめたレポート『Japan Startup Finance 2025上半期』のエッセンスをまとめた。8月19日（火）にはオンラインでの解説セミナーも実施する（お申し込みはこちら）。

Startups in Japan raised a total of JPY 779.3 billion (excluding debt financing) in 2024, remaining relatively stable at +3% YoY. At the same time, a string of large deals worth over JPY 5 billion in the second half of the year contributed to a rise in the average value of individual deals. It is also worth noting that 2024 saw an increase in investment activity from prominent foreign investors, with leading global VCs such as Khosla Ventures and New Enterprise Associates showing interest in the Japanese market. Although Japan’s investment landscape showed signs of a shift, with the number of startup funds established decreasing significantly YoY, general business corporations continued to be engaged in different ways—including in the form of corporate venture capital funds (CVCs)—and M&A activity was high. *“Japan Startup Funding” is a biannual report published by Speeda, a leading platform for economic information in Japan, presenting the latest trends in startup funding in the country based on original research and analysis.
